Syrah’s origins are in the south of France, where it was first made famous in the smoky, spicy, tannic wines of the country villages there.
The grapes for the 2006 vintage of Duende Syrah were grown on a single vineyard in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. The Russian River’s morning fog gives Duende Syrah the same smoke and spice as its French counterparts, while the warm afternoon sun imbues it with the darkness, depth and power that California Syrah is so famous for.
